The Modern Expedition

While designing the new 2022 Expedition, Ford decided to expand the lineup of vehicles so it would meet the ever-growing needs of Millenials, the fastest-growing demographic in the full-size SUV segment. With more space, better technology, and 8 available seats, the 2022 Ford Expedition is designed with the modern family in mind.

The Ford Expedition has dominated its class since 2017 when it was first redesigned, nearly tripling its share of the full-size SUV market. Ford’s formula for the Expedition has yet to be beaten, with other manufacturers trying, yet failing to steal market share away from Ford.

The most recent iteration of the Ford Expedition is once again designed to dominate the full-size SUV class, with incredible new technology and capabilities. Here is some of what’s new on the 2022 Ford Expedition:

  • First Timberline series elevates the Expedition above the Jeep® Wagoneer with best available ground clearance in its class of 10.6 inches6 (versus a maximum 10 inches for Jeep Wagoneer), F-150 Raptor underbody protection and best available power in its class
  • Expedition Timberline SUV model weighs 4% less than Jeep Wagoneer SUV and boasts a better power-to-weight ratio, as Ford’s high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine tops the Jeep Wagoneer SUV 5.7-liter V8 engine with 48 additional horsepower and 106 more lb.-ft. of torque
  • Stealth Edition Performance Package delivers 85 more horsepower and 127 lb.-ft. more torque5 than Chevrolet Tahoe® RST SUV with its 5.3-liter V8 engine
  • Expedition SUV equipped with a 3.5-liter GTDI 4×2 has a maximum towing capability of 9,300 pounds, 900 more pounds than the two-wheel-drive Chevrolet Tahoe SUV with 5.3-liter V8 engine, at 8,400 pounds.

Aiming to attract more Millenials and women to the Expedition lineup, Ford took care to increase their comfort and technology offerings and options. The expanded lineup of Expeditions should have no problem attracting these new customers, with their unique personality and bold design as well as many options.

If you’re looking for the most comfortable and technologically advanced full-size SUV available, look no further than the 2022 Expedition, available here at Charles Gabus Ford located in Des Moines, IA. Stop by and preorder yours today!
