Choose the engine that matches your style—there are three different ones to pick from. The base edition of the Ford Escape carries a 168-horsepower 2.5L engine, which can handle daily drives and errands with grace. The 1.5L EcoBoost® engine strikes a balance between power and efficiency, delivering 179 horsepower. The most powerful offering is a 2.0L EcoBoost® engine, which features quick torque delivery while providing 245 horsepower.
The 1.5L EcoBoost® engine features Auto Start-Stop technology, which can reduce fuel consumption and emissions. When you come to a complete stop, like at a stoplight, the engine will shut off. It’ll then seamlessly restart when you press on the accelerator. The available Intelligent 4WD System, meanwhile, monitors traction, then transfers torque from front to rear wheels for the best possible grip on roadways.
Inside the Ford Escape
Step inside the cabin of the Ford Escape, and you’ll immediately be greeted by a parade of well-thought-out interior amenities. The standard infotainment system, known as SYNC®, comes with a 4.2-inch touchscreen and 6-speaker audio setup.
The available SYNC® 3 infotainment system is optional, along with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, allowing for easy smartphone integration. Pick a song, read text messages, and use navigation functionality to your advantage! Meanwhile, the available panoramic moonroof can spread some joy. Extending further than a typical moonroof, sunlight will reach those seated in both the front and back.
There’s enough space for up to five people inside the cabin of the Ford Escape, with both rows offering copious amounts of leg- and headroom for drives both long and short. When it comes to cargo space, you’ll have 68 cubic feet with the back-row seats folded down—enough room for groceries, gear, luggage, and anything else you’re bringing along for the ride.
The driver convenience features found in the Ford Safe and Smart™ Package will make every drive safer. This package includes:
- Driver-activated rain-sensing windshield wipers
- Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with cross-traffic alert
- Lane-Keeping System
- Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support
BLIS® uses radar to pick up on vehicles in your vicinity, and will then display a notification in the appropriate side mirror letting you know there’s a car in your blind spot. At the same time, cross-traffic alert informs you of vehicles crossing from left or right when backing up. The Lane-Keeping System then tracks your movements, guiding you back into the center of the lane if unintentional lane drifting is detected.
